The Aperture Research Institute (ARI) was established in 2006 to share market intelligence about data center management. The ARI produces quarterly reports on best practice management and the common challenges faced by data centers.
Research notes published by the ARI have investigated the adoption of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) in the data center, analyzed the typical data center’s readiness for high density equipment, and discovered how few data centers trust vendors to help them with their green initiatives.
Each study is based on a survey of more than 100 data center professionals, responsible for hundreds of data center sites between them, and representing a broad cross-section of industry sectors. The high quality and breadth of the respondent base ensure that the ARI’s reports truly reflect the challenges and viewpoints of data center professionals today.
Research is guided by a panel of invited industry experts, the ARI Contributing Members, which shares its insight into the data center gained through work at leading organizations.
The ARI was created by Aperture Technologies, a market leader with over 20 years’ experience in providing management solutions for the physical infrastructure of enterprise data centers.
The Principal of the ARI is Steve Yellen, who has over 20 years of extensive technology experience, including as Vice President of Product and Market Strategy at Aperture Technologies. He has held technical and management positions at DataViz, McDonnell Douglas and IBM. He received his Masters in Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Connecticut, Masters in Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
